NOTE: The original AN6675 chip was physically bigger than this replacement chip. That original IC is no longer manufactured, and as such one is left with little option but to use this smaller chip if a replacement is required.  Both ICs have the same technical specifications and are identical in their characteristics and purpose. It is just that the newer chip is physically smaller.

There are two types of SL1200 main printed circuit boards in widespread use. The older boards had  larger hole dimensions to accommodate the physically larger AN6675 Intergrated circuit. The length and width across the pins of the new chip will not directly fit into the existing holes in the older type of main board.

The newer IC package, ie the only type that is presently manufactured, and that is is available here, have pin dimensions that measure approximately 19.5mm x 14mm.

The earlier style IC package measured approximately 28mm x 18mm.

If your PCB has mounting holes that measure approximately 28mm x 18 mm, THE NEWER AN667 WILL NOT DIRECTLY FIT INTO THESE HOLES.

An adaptor PCB will be required, with the new chip being soldered into this PCB, and the pins from this adaptor PCB fitting into the existing holes on the original main board.

We stock the adaptor PCB board which is sold seperately.
( Do not even consider making new holes in the PCB to accommodate this smaller chip - the track layout on the PCB does not allow this and you run the very real risk of destroying the board)

Additionally, the use of this smaller chip will require that at least one of the screw holes in the aluminium heatsink will have to be re-drilled and either have the new hole tapped, or alternatively use a through bolt to securely attach the heatsink to the smaller IC in two places.
Heatsink compound will have to be re-applied before securing the heatsink.

We sell convenient sized tubes of heatsink compound in an easy to use applicator.
